Hello and welcome to my explanation of what the makings mean on your lawn mower tyres.

Over the last couple of years we have been asked over and over what the numbers mean on the side of the tyre,

for example 18x8.50-8 2 or 4pr NHS.

18 = 18" high from the floor to the top of the tyre

8.50 = 8.50" wide from shoulder to shoulder.

8 = The size of the rim on which the tyre is mounted

2PR = 2 ply rating for your lighter lawn mowers

4PR = 4 ply rating for the heaver lawn mowers

NHS = doesn't mean national health service and you would be surprised in how many of us think this, it actually means non highway service

(not road legal)

So now you know thanks.
